About Pencombe Pool
Nestled between the Herefordshire villages of Pencombe and Little Cowarne, our heated indoor swimming pool is located in a secluded rural location and part of our family home. Like many families, we found it very difficult to find excellent quality, clean and calm environments for our young children to learn to swim confidently. Having been fortunate enough to move into a house with an indoor heated pool, we decided that we wanted to share the facility and offer it to others locally as we believe swimming is an important life skill and great for all round fitness and wellbeing.
The Pool is situated in a modern, bespoke designed building with far reaching views which are everchanging throughout the different seasons.
The Pool is 10m long by 5m wide with a depth of 1m to 1.7m. There are steps to enter the pool and it is heated to 29-31c.
We have a large changing area with four individual changing rooms. There is a toilet and poolside rinsing shower.
In allowing others to use the facility, we ask that you respect our facility, our home and our neighbours. You follow the pool rules and leave the facility clean and tidy and how you found it.
Private Hire – As a couple, family or small group of friends you can hire the unsupervised pool to use exclusively. There must always be two adults who are competent swimmers present and the Pool Hire Contract Terms and Conditons must be read and followed at all times.
Stay&Play – A relaxed and fun baby and toddler water play group. This is not a lesson but a free play session and the perfect way to introduce and familiarise your little ones to the pool in an unstructured environment. It is ideal if you are unable to commit to weekly lessons or do not require the structure of lessons. The sessions are half an our long and you have 15 minutes before and after the lesson to change and get ready.
MarineBaby – Are a swim school dedicated to teaching Babies, Toddlers and Preschoolers invaluable swimming skills and the love of water. The foundations of each course are water safety and water confidence which we believe is developed in a happy and safe environment using progressive, stimulating and sensory learning techniques in (and under!) the water. The weekly lessons run through term time only and are also about adults (of any ability, including non swimmers) and their child learning important new skills together, creating lifelong memories and enjoying being in the moment together. These can not be booked online, but email to for information and to register your interest.
